Successes & works

Living Links has developed from its early days as a project concept in 2004, to its current status as a collaboration of more than 20 organisations working together to develop a Master Plan for the future protection of natural landscapes in Mebourne’s south-east.

In that time it has coordinated a program of environmental rehabilitation works which have leveraged funding from the Australian Government, State agencies, local governments and several corporate sponsors including Melbourne Water, Mobile Muster, Jemena, SP Ausnet and Victoria Electricity. By investing core funding of approximately $150,000 in works projects it has generated around twice that amount by negotiating dollar-for-dollar contributions from other organisations.

The $300,000 Living Links Master Plan project will establish an empirical and collaborative strategic plan for future environmental protection and rehabilitation in the project area.

In 2009 Living Links rolled out a works program that rehabilitated natural environments at ten sites throughout the region, complementing works by Councils, Melbourne Water, Parks Victoria and other agencies. It was the second round of works funded by Living Links, with the initial works program completed in 2008.
